I don't use this as much as I should. I don't use this as much as I want to. I should make this part of my daily routine since it after doesn't take that long. Then again, the artist in me has been slowly receding, hiding away in the dark waiting for inspiration - maybe this is what being an adult is like. It's a contemplative situation. I'm on the verge of becoming an adult, and in so doing, I've begun a purge of things in my life. Reformatting, rearranging, reorganizing. I've begun to clean the vestiges of my perceived life, repairing things, destroying things. I've an idea in my head that when I do turn 18 that it should be a rebirth. Then again, high school itself was a rebirth, as was any shift in my location. I'm still amazed that I've maintained rather than destroyed this - why doesn't anyone erase what they don't use - and have maintained this for more than half of this site's existence. I still remember when we hadn't even reached a million submissions. Well, since my last journal one could already assume several things: I'm a senior, I'm college bound, and many things have changed.
First off, school related items. as previously stated, I'm in my last year of high school and also my last year of being a minor. This brings many things into perspective. I've got to concentrate, for the most part, on college applications and admissions. This stress won't be gone until at the least all my applications have been submitted - damn UC/Common App essays. Our college counseling department also has us doing research so that they can keep tabs on our lives. It's not too bad, but I have no motivation to do the research. If 'tweren't - informal contraction of "it were not" - for the fact that I'm only really interested in a few colleges, I might actually be looking for somewhere to go. The dynamics [in relation to line breaks and spacing as if they were dynamics in music] in this entry bother me.

It felt to claustrophobic. I need some air, and freedom.

And things have changed muchly, but mostly neutral. I really want to make senior year memorable and amazing for myself, and henceforth plans and schemes.

But what I've done so far from my last post of anything truly relevant.

Naughty Natasha and the Sputnix broke up because Natasha was deported [extended euphemism for kicking some one out **** *******]

Summer was neutral. I had to take care of my grandma. But my cousin ~mindless-sheep and I got to hang out more. And by hang out I mean take care of my grandma and reflect on how inane some of the people we know are.

The Sputnix [once NNatS] are on there way to making an album. Acquisition of new instruments and tools still progressing - Juno 106, Linndrum chips, MPC-1000. We're waiting till we turn to sign ourselves to ourselves for legality's sake.

New school year, new things.
I got an upright and a few polaroid cameras. Quite cool since I got the polaroids from Salvation Army in the other category. Sun 600 and Polaroid 430. As you can tell one definitely works, the other, I still have to purchase film for. Either 100 series or 660 series. If anyone's willing to donate. What's amazing is the condition of the cameras. Near mint. And quite fun. I have joint custody of the Sun however.

I have a new Upright Bass. Quite beautiful actually. Sadly, not vintage or esteemed. Dream I shall of the vintage beauty that I want. It's fun to play so I don't really care that much as to who makes it. I play absurdity.


Now to the serious stuff.

Art + Life + WTF am I doing right now.

The art in me has for the most part been sidetracked for a long time. But I feel a resurgence and therefore will not ruin it for you. As for now it should suffice to say, "OMG look new stuff!" If I didn't have higher expectations for myself and my work and this community, you'd be looking at myspace shots of others and poor quality photos of my life.

My life isn't complicated, there's just a lot going on. We have three weeks to finish a set. I have college stuff going on. I have to try to get home once in awhile. I want to balance this out with fun, like the Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem concert that I recently attended. Quite fun. I can only promise to attempt systematic maintenance and updating. As for what I do update, it's mostly whimsical, since I still do not own a DSLR and film and processing is expensive, and the last time I did develop film was two years ago in a set of 36 which I've yet to scan as well as a binder that I have not yet decidedly scan.

Hopefully if I can maintain a routine, we'll work backwards in time and see me develop reversely.

Also. Music and tangibility have been my focus lately.
